Dark pool share: 34% off-exchange — 18pp below the market
Off-exchange prints never touch the public book, so they move size without moving the quote. That is the point of using them. Most of the day cleared on the lit market — either there was nothing to hide, or the large players sat out. Short share of the off-exchange piece: 62% vs a 59% norm.

What it means: Options positioning leans toward more calls than puts (put/call ratio about 0.37), and short squeeze pressure is low at 15. Off-exchange volume was roughly normal for CHKP and its short share sat close to its usual level, so the money signals are mild and show no strong directional bet.
News vs the money
Check Point Software will report its 2026 third-quarter financial results on November 2, 2026
Options holders are leaning toward upside with more calls than puts, but there are no new large positions tied to this date, so the money signals neither confirm nor contradict the announcement.

Amazon, Apple, Micron, and Check Point Software named as picks on CNBC's Final Trades segment
Commentators name Check Point as a pick, while options show a mild call-leaning tilt and off-exchange activity near normal, so the money signals are not clearly backing the mention.
Benzinga · 09/23
Check Point's 2026 outlook centers on its Infinity platform driving subscription revenue growth, though its older product lines pose challenges
The outlook is mixed, and the money signals are mild and call-leaning without a strong bet either way, so they neither clearly support nor clearly oppose the story.

Engineers Gate Manager LP cut its Check Point stake by 42.8% in the second quarter, to about $1.61 million
This fund's reduction is a single filing, and the current options and off-exchange signals do not show a matching selloff, so the money picture does not clearly back the trim.

Check Point Software appoints Yoram Tietz to its board of directors
A routine governance change with no new money signal attached, so the options and off-exchange data give no read on it.

What is a “divergence”?
A divergence is when the news narrative and the institutional money flow point in opposite directions — a bearish headline while large call premium is bought, or heavy dark-pool selling under a bullish story. It signals the crowd and the desks may disagree.
How to read these numbers
Dark-pool volume — The share of trading executed off-exchange, at wholesalers and dark pools. About half of all US share volume prints there on an ordinary day, so the level by itself says almost nothing. What carries information is the distance from this name’s own recent norm, and whether the off-exchange size ran above its usual.
Off-exchange short share — How much of that off-exchange volume was sold short. The median across all listed names is about 49%, because wholesalers filling retail buy orders sell short and cover later. A reading near half is plumbing, not a bearish vote — compare it to the same name’s own 20-day norm.
Max pain — The price where the most options expire worthless — positioning often gravitates toward it near expiry.
Call wall / Put floor — Strikes with the heaviest call/put open interest — they often act as short-term resistance and support.
Put/Call ratio — Below ~0.7 leans bullish (more calls); above ~1 leans defensive (more puts).
